César Jiménez de Tejada. International, award winning architect, the co-founder of estudio.entresitio - www.entresitio.com-, César Jimenez de Tejada is Faculty member of the School of Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (ETSAM) as a studio design teacher since 2000, he has also been final review visiting critic at the School of Architecture, Cornell University several European universities as Berlin(BTU), Eindhoven(DTU), Bari(Politecnico), Venice (IUAV). He has been invited to lecturecritic at several Spanish + European Schools. Actually he is Erasmus tutor for Exchange students with Venice, Paris la Villette, Mendrisio Architecture Schools since 2012, Berlin Eindhoven since 2005. estudio.entresitio has enjoyed much attention. In 2007, Architectural Record selected the firm as Design Vanguard; helping its work to be publishedseen in many countries. Its constructed work has received more than 28 awards honourable mentions. The firm participated in the 10th + 11th Spanish Biennial, the 7th BIAU (Iberoamerican Biennial of Architecture + Urbanism), the Barbara Cappochin Biennale has participated in curated international exhibitions including two Venice Biennales. The firm received the ArchDaily “Building of the Year 2012” in the health care category, for its healthcare centers trilogy of San Blas+Usera+Villaverde, Madrid. Boston Society of Architects Prizes, 1st award at COAM 2014 Prizes WAN “House of the Year” 2014 Award with #house#1.130 to mention a few. 3th Prize, Nueva Cinemateca y Centro de Cultura Digital de Bogatá, Colombia Competition. Jiménez de Tejada believes he was trained to negotiate with the real, always seeking for a better translation of abstract conceptual ideas into physical space. A powerful conceptual strategy is, in his opinion, the vehicle for the synthetic thinking that architecture is. It is the structure, in the larger sense of the word structure, that allows considering all the disciplinary matters related to each other; function, location, disposition, scale, size, material, structural solution, construction, also the spatial consequences of a certain form + the image that it builds. His teaching + research examines mathematics, the relationship order disorder, underlines structures, presence vs absence in architecture, etc Jiménez de Tejada is a graduate of Polytechnic University, Madrid.
