seeks a dynamic and accomplished faculty member in architecture, with expertise in designing sustainable, resilient, healthy buildings, and urban environments. The school seeks candidates who can demonstrate current, advanced scholarship and design inquiry that exhibits an in-depth understanding of the architecture discipline and integration of advanced materials, methods, and systems, as well as strong teaching abilities and demonstrated effectiveness in studio instruction. This appointment will begin in Fall 2019 and will be filled at the rank of Assistant Professor.
This full-time, 9-month faculty position includes responsibilities for teaching, research, creative work, and service. The School of Architecture seeks candidates who can help advance and strengthen the curriculum and focus of the BEnvD, MLA, and DArch programs. Within the required specialization in architecture, desired expertise includes but is not limited to design research and critical practice of architecture in the urban context, and design for healthy, livable, and resilient built environments. The school seeks candidates who will complement the skills of the faculty at the School of Architecture and provide research and teaching integrating advanced application of building materials, systems, and technologies.
Candidates must submit a cover letter summarizing their interest and qualifications for the position, a current curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, samples of research or creative projects (maximum 20 single-sided pages), and the names and contact information of at least three (3) references. A major building project has completely refurbished one part of the campus and linked our two main buildings, Burlington House and 6, Burlington Gardens, through a scheme architected by David Chipperfield RA.
The build manager supports the delivery of the Academy’s exhibitions programme and manages to build projects within our buildings. This entails managing exhibition contractors and builds within our galleries, advising on and facilitating large sculpture installations by modern and contemporary artists, and carrying out small building works within our Grade II* listed buildings.
Reporting to the head of surveying, and working closely with the exhibition managers, the build manager will project manage all aspects of gallery builds and strikes: from design processes, through tender and contract awards to build programmes and sign-off of finished work. The role will act as the Academy’s initial operational point of contact for exhibition build contractors.
In addition, the build manager will project manage small building and fit out projects on behalf of the Estates department, and as directed by the Head of Surveying, carry out administrative surveying tasks in support of the maintenance of the Royal Academy’s listed buildings.

La trama gira en torno a una joven enamorada que cae en la más profunda desesperación al verse acusada por su amante de traición por haberse casado, contra su voluntad, con otro hombre. Lo que el amante desconoce es que las nupcias se celebraron bajo una falsa presunción de infidelidad. El dolor que inunda a la joven la abruma hasta el punto de hacerla enloquecer, dando pie a una de las escenas más célebres de la historia de la ópera, tanto por su genialidad musical como por el nivel de introspección psicológica que revela. El ineludible trágico desenlace rubrica una obra que, sin atisbo de duda, mantiene hoy intacta su capacidad para emocionar.
